They
were taken from beside the highway between Mareeba and Dimbulah. Cloud
cover prevented me from taking photographs at some stages and it also
effected the quality of some images. The maximum magnitude at the
location was 0.88. The maximum coverage was 83%. The time of the
maximum was 8.48:06 AM.
Please inform me of any good photos or video footage of these eclipses and their lighting effects on the landscape.
We
are seeking
people's video footage and possibly still shots from elevated locations
of both this eclipse and the 2012 total eclipse, where the footage
shows how the eclipse darkened the landscape and how
the contrast in light varied and changed. I am wondering if the shadow
of the moon was seen tracking across the landscape from an
elevated area or from a balloon. Footage in areas near the edge of the
path of totality would also be valuable, because most interested people
would not see this, as they would be near the centre of the path of
totality. At lookouts near the edge of the path, the contrast in light
in different areas should be more noticeable. People could upload the
footage on to Youtube and send me a link to it.
Please also
share any records during the eclipse of light intensity and weather
conditions including temperature and barometric pressure. Also, which
street lights turn on, and what stars or planets become visible?
Please make sure you have seen the Worldwide Weather Organization with High Quality Detailed Graphs.
